California’s service network is extensive. Here’s how families find what fits their child.

Your child has a disability or complex medical needs and you know there are programs out there, but nobody has given you a clear picture of what they are, how they connect, or where to start. You’ve heard other parents mention IHSS, Regional Center, IEPs, and other services, but the system feels impossible to untangle.

California has one of the most comprehensive networks of services for children with disabilities in the country. The problem is that these programs are run by different agencies with different eligibility rules, and no single person is responsible for showing families the full picture. That’s the gap Access Navigator fills.

How we’ll map what’s available to your family

Tell Access Navigator about your child, their age, diagnosis or concerns, what you’re already connected to, and what feels hardest right now. The tool identifies programs your family may qualify for, explains how each one works, and gives you a prioritized plan with concrete next steps. No jargon. No runaround.

If you have documents from any agency, a Notice of Action, an IEP, an assessment, you can upload them during the conversation for plain-language explanation.

Coming July 2026: Changes to the complaint process

California is consolidating how families file complaints about Regional Center services into a single, simplified grievance process. If you have concerns about how services are being delivered, Access Navigator can help you understand which process currently applies to your situation and what to expect during the transition.

Know your way forward. See your next step.
